The Ara Pacis Museum hosts a major exhibition dedicated to Toulouse Lautrec, with170 masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest.

On display are posters, illustrations, music scores’ covers and playbills divided into five thematic sectors, according to the background formative experiences of the artist: from his early works to the Montmartre period, offering an alternation between portrayals of celebrities and theatrical plays with brothels’ scenes and nightlife in Paris and lastly to the section dedicated to drawings and lithographs depicting friends and the private life of the author himself. The last section of the exhibition showcases book illustrations and covers created by Lautrec in his last years, as well as rare photographs and footage that evoke the Parisian Belle Époque of the early twentieth century
